Comments: This rag was dedicated to the Maple Leaf Club in Sedalia, Missouri. The rag became an immense hit and was the first instrumental to sell a million copies of sheet music. This established Joplin as the "King of The Ragtime Writers" which earned him substantial royalties for the rest of his life. It also sent the publisher John Stark on to a great career as a music publisher.
